Q1: Do you like taking photos?

“Yes, quite a lot, actually. I wouldn’t call myself a serious photographer, but I do enjoy snapping photos whenever I go somewhere interesting. I mostly use my smartphone since it’s always with me. I think photography is a great way to capture moments that would otherwise just fade from memory.”

Q2: What do you usually take photos of?

“Mostly everyday scenes — food, street life, sunsets, that kind of thing. I’m quite drawn to candid shots of people going about their day. I find those more interesting than posed photos because they feel more genuine and alive.”

Q3: Do you prefer taking photos or being in photos?

“Definitely taking them. I’m a bit awkward in front of the camera, to be honest. I’d much rather be the one behind it, looking for a good angle or waiting for the right lighting. There’s something satisfying about finding the perfect composition.”

Đề bài: Describe a photo you took that you are proud of.

You should say:

Sample Answer:

I’d like to talk about a photo I took about two years ago during a solo trip to Hội An. It’s a shot I still look back on with a lot of pride.

I took it on an early morning walk along the riverside, just after sunrise. The light at that hour is incredibly soft and golden, which photographers often call ‘the golden hour.’ I noticed an elderly woman rowing a small wooden boat along the river, completely alone, with the mist still sitting low on the water. I quickly took out my phone and snapped the shot without her noticing — a completely candid moment.

What I love about it visually is the composition. The woman and her boat are positioned slightly off-center, with the misty river stretching out behind her. The warm tones of the sunrise contrast beautifully with the pale blue mist. I didn’t edit it much at all — just a slight brightness adjustment.

The reason I’m so proud of it is that it genuinely captures a fleeting, unrepeatable moment. I could have walked past that spot ten seconds later and she would have been gone. It also reminded me that you don’t need an expensive camera to take a meaningful photograph — you just need to pay attention to the world around you and have an eye for the right moment. Whenever I look at it now, I’m immediately taken back to that quiet, peaceful morning by the river.

Q1: Why do people take so many photos these days?

“I think the main reason is that smartphones have made photography completely effortless and accessible. Anyone can take a decent photo with the device already in their pocket. But beyond convenience, I think people have a deep psychological desire to hold onto experiences — to freeze a moment in time rather than just let it pass. There’s also a social dimension, of course. With platforms like Instagram, photos have become a form of self-expression and even social currency. People photograph their lives partly to share them, to tell a story about who they are.”

Q2: Do you think photography is a valuable skill to learn?

“Absolutely. At its core, photography teaches you to observe the world more carefully — to notice light, composition, and small details you’d otherwise walk straight past. That kind of visual awareness is genuinely useful beyond just taking pictures. On a more practical level, photography is also a marketable skill. Businesses constantly need product photos, event coverage, and content for social media. So whether as a hobbyist or a professional, I think it’s a skill well worth developing.”
